[spoken word] and Boethius, author of the Consolation of Philosophy "It's my belief that history is a wheel" “Inconstency is my very essence” - says the wheel “Rise up on my spokes if you like, but don't complain that then you are cast back down into the depths." Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it is also our hope. The worst of times like the best, are always passing away.

[Verse 1] My life's been hazy lately Feeling like a daydream Sitting on the canal Memories all so fleeting The moments that I'll miss When I'm old and buried Nostalgia for a time When I didn't have a worry [Chorus] X2 Was so brief but so sweet I wish you'd never leave Summer nights in scrubs Another time another love I'll write the same songs About a world I thought I knew Forever Adolescent God I'll miss you [Verse 2] I hope I can bear to be without you And those sunsets on Parliament Hill Fucking around with time to kill You ran straight through my heart Sitting under the sky so beautiful and dark [Chorus] X2 Was so brief but so sweet I wish you'd never leave Summer nights in scrubs Another time another love I'll write the same songs About a world I thought I knew Forever Adolescent God I'll miss you [Verse (Ned Thomas)] I could've smoked up I turn it all into dust But three hours till the sun sets baby And now I'm choked up I can't pretend anymore That I didn't see it coming baby It won't matter too much in a year When we're all grown up But for now we're just kids Wouldn't matter too much If I showed that I care for you I care for you I care Care [Chorus] X4 Was so brief but so sweet I wish you'd never leave Summer nights in scrubs Another time another love I'll write the same songs About a world I thought I knew Forever Adolescent God I'll miss you

[Verse 1] Running away to Paris, Texas Trying to escape from all the things I’ve dealt with I just wanna be with all my friends And free from all responsibility Running away to Paris, Texas Trying to escape from all the things I’ve dealt with I just wanna be with all my friends And free from all responsibility [Pre-chorus] I just want to be up You and me together at 3 AM Why do I feel so alone When this is the place That I call my home [Chorus] Running away to Paris Texas and I wonder how I'm gonna hide from all the problems that I deal with now In the desert I hope I'll forget just who I am A romanticised fantasy I'll never speak of again [Verse 2] I love the city but I need to feel free All part of a petty bourgeoise dream Live and die in the place I was brought up in It's what I want but I’ll run like the wind (one day) I’ll stay Walking up to Kensal Green on a Saturday Paris, Texas doesn't seem too far away [Chorus] X2 Running away to Paris Texas and I wonder how I'm gonna hide from all the problems that I deal with now In the desert I hope ill forget just who I am A romanticised fantasy I'll never speak of again [Spoken Word] And for the first time he wished he were far away Lost in a deep, vast country where nobody knew him Somewhere without language or streets And he dreamed about this place without knowing its name And when he woke up he was on fire There were blue flames burning the sheets of his bed He ran through the flames towards the only two people he loved But they were gone
4.
[Verse 1] Absence makes the heart grow fonder Our paths will cross even if we wander I hope we're immortally bound Until I’m 6 feet deep in the ground [Verse 2] X2 Absence makes my heart grow stronger But i cant stand to wait much longer Like the moon rises and sun falls It should last forever till the sun explodes [Outro] Until the sun explodes Until the sun explodes Until the sun explodes Until the sun explodes
5.
Chlorine 05:36
[Chorus] Chlorine smell fills my lungs Just like when I was so young I remember swimming pools and bliss Under the summer sun's kiss [Verse 1] All this shit reminds me of The person I once was Crying my eyes out on the floor To These Days by Nico last fall I remember the day I came out as trans In the hotel room in Milan I had to cut off all my friends But it was for the best in the end [Chorus] Chlorine smell fills my lungs Just like when i was so young I remember swimming pools and bliss Under the summer sun's kiss [Bridge] And I guess its worth saying That I found what i was craving My identity belongs to me A self actualised fantasy Thats just how its meant to be But I'm still bound by codependency [Chorus] Chlorine smell fills my lungs Just like when I was so young I remember swimming pools and bliss Under the summer sun's kiss
6.
[Chorus] X2 Sitting beneath the summer's sky Under the apple tree is where we lie We'll never need to say goodbye Kingdom of scrubland is where we reside [Verse 1] I hope we’ll live on the canal Sit around as the sun goes down I'll make some music you’ll live your life We’ll watch fallen angels every night Lazy smoke on sunday mornings A simple existence that I'm yearning I want those walks in the cemetery in kensal that I’ll try to prolong the end of [Chorus] X2 Sitting beneath the summer's sky Under the apple tree is where we lie We'll never need to say goodbye Kingdom of scrubland is where we reside [Verse 2] Pick myself up by the bootstraps Tryinga to get my shit together I'm just waiting for better weather The seasons turn the leaves are green It'll all be better by the summer Under the shade of the apple tree We’ll make a life where we can live carefree I think I'm happy here actually [Chorus] X4 Sitting beneath the summer's sky Under the apple tree is where we lie We'll never need to say goodbye Kingdom of scrubland is where we reside [Spoken Word] (Translated from French) I told you escape is a dream You only have to take an interest in things to see their beauty It’s true After all things are just what they are A face Is a face Plates are plates Men are men And life is life
7.
[Verse 1] Like Icarus we shot for the sun Earth’s pretty small from up here ya know And God wasn’t there to catch our fall My hubris would come to destroy us once for all Like Orpheus and Eurydice We ended tragically and now you’re gone And as I looked back down to see you All I could do was look on [Verse 2] I’ve been feeling so lonely Up on the moon staring into our blue world A million miles apart And all I wanted was to be your girl (your boy, your girl, your boy) I miss you now that we’re apart And I’d still give you the world But all that we were and could be Is lost in the great vast cosmic swirl [Chorus] (Yuli Lagodinsky) I've been downhearted baby What happened’s kinda hazy But my eyes started to wet Ever since the day you left Was it a misunderstanding Or was I too demanding The only thing that I regret Ever since the day we met [Outro] Ever since the day you left

PART I: Beginning Of The End [Instrumental] PART II: Afternoon Before The Apocalypse [Verse 1] I stare out into the warm glow Of a london sunset On the afternoon before the Apocalypse We're all out of time We had five years left But it's alright we'll hold hands As it all ends [Verse 2] As the night draws near I confront my fear of the eternal dark This one moments all we've got Sitting in this park We both knew it would end Before the bad times could start But our love’s eternal You're always in my heart [Poem 1: London by William Blake] I wander through each charterd street, Near where the chartered Thames does flow.  And mark in every face I meet Marks of weakness, marks of woe. In every cry of every Man, In every Infants cry of fear, In every voice: in every ban, The mind-forged manacles I hear  How the Chimney-sweepers cry Every blackening Church appalls,  And the hapless Soldiers sigh Runs in blood down Palace walls  But most through midnight streets I hear How the youthful Harlots curse Blasts the new-born Infants tear  And blights with plagues the Marriage hearse  [Climax] (Nicky Griffin) The sky falls down There’ll be hell to pay What a beautiful day The sky falls down There’ll be hell to pay What a beautiful day PART III: Always [Poem 2: Stanmore Hill by Jackie Ward] The hill stretched far above the skyline of concrete and glass and the Silhouette of the city was outlined on the horizon. I traipsed through the long grass and came to an edge, the sky opening up before me as it blew up in streaks of orange and pink. You could almost even see the stars tonight, a blissful sky broken only By the dim, distant glow of the north circular. Quiet suburbia was slashed in half by Westway billboards and the Wembley arch. That day, I felt so close to the heavens that I could almost touch them. You were long gone but your presence still remained. It was a beautiful day.

about

Recorded January - December 2021

This record is named after the park in West London that I spent most my weekends in with my friends as a teenager and how those relationships were tied and bound to the parts of London they were set in. A band I like once said that all songs are love songs in their own unique ways, and I think that applies here - love songs to parks, overpasses and railways, to London and to my friends. - Jackie

Dedicated to my parents who put up with me mixing the same tracks for months and months and whom without this record wouldn't exist
Also dedicated to my friends, whom I love dearly.

"A state of exalted pleasure lasts only moments, or in some cases, and with some intermissions, hours or days, and is the occasional brilliant flash of enjoyment, not its permanent and steady flame.
Of this the philosophers who have taught that happiness is the end of life were as fully aware as those who taunt them.
The happiness which they meant was not a life of rapture, but moments of such, in an existence made up of few and transitory pains, many and various pleasures, with a decided predominance of the active over the passive, and having as the foundation of the whole, not to expect more from life than it is capable of bestowing. A life thus composed, to those who have been fortunate enough to obtain it, has always appeared worthy of the name of happiness."
- J.S. Mill
